Bones Animal Crossing

Introduction

Some people are just addictive to be around because being in their presence is so relaxing and enjoyable. Most likely, these kinds of people are the friends in your life who never seem to let stress bother them; they seem to be grounded at all times and go with the flow. Who would not want to be like that?

If you find yourself thinking, that sounds great, I’d love a friend like that, then the best friend (and islander) for you is Bones! Bones is the best because of his chilled attitude, cozy style, passion for playing, and last but definitely not least, he’s a dog, man’s best friend for sure!

Bottom Line Up Front

Bones is a lazy villager (and coincidentally a dog with a jack Russel style design) who has been around for a long time! As a lazy villager, Bones is great to have on your island as he can easily get along with others. He also has the play hobby, which is a delight to see!

Bone’s was born on August 4th and is the eldest of seven children! Bones’ schedule is to rise at 8 AM and go to bed at 11 PM. Bones lives a very slow pace of life, and very little bothers him; even his clothes signal cozy and slow vibes with his multicolored and multipatterned fleece.

You can invite Bones to your island in Pocket Camp. You just need to unlock him on Blathers treasure map! Bones has a vision for a playpen in the Happy Home update and requires a tricycle, a playground gym, and a mini circuit.

Who is Bones?

Bones
Nookipedia – Animals Crossing Wiki

Bones is the cutest dog you will ever meet! Well, maybe not; after all, Cookie is really cute and, of course, the adorable little Isabelle who works so hard!

Bones is a great villager, though, and for sure cute in his own way. He is a lazy villager whose birthday is on August 4th and comes from a large litter of 7 where he is the eldest! Bones has my favorite hobby of all time, which is the play hobby, and means that if you are lucky, you can often find him running around the island with his hands stretched out – like a kid pretending to be an airplane. There is little in Animal Crossing cuter than seeing my islanders do this, and this is magnified in the winter by the snow.

His name is likely a connection to a dog bone, while others suggest it is due to the phrase ”lazy bones” because of his lazy personality; I think both of which can be true!

Bones Appearance

Bones is the best boy ever! You know that overwhelming emotion you get when you see a super cute dog, and you think,” I would die for you” No? Just me? Well, that is how you feel seeing Bones on your island every day!

Bones is an aptly named Dog villager with cute floppy ears, which are oddly short in length but add to his overall charm! His ears are white with grey at the ends. He has large saucer-style eyes that say, ”give me whatever I want,” and for sure, I could not refuse this pup any treats despite my best efforts. He has a cute brown patch over his left eye (like a jack Russell often has). Bones also has a soft pink muzzle and cute black nose that you just cannot help but want to boop. He has a soft and happy smile that is very polite.

Bones’ outfit is also nothing short of adorable as he wears an 80’s style colorful patterned long sleeve fleece. His fleece is orange, blue, and white patterns with a brown base color. Under his fleece, Bones’ little legs poke out, which are white, the same as his head, and he has little pink paws.

Bones Personality

Bones Animals
Nookipedia – Animals Crossing Wiki

Despite what most likely springs to mind when you think about a dog, Bones is actually a very calm and serene character who likes to take his time and move at his own (very slow) pace. So if you haven’t already guessed, he is a lazy villager.

What is Good About Lazy Villagers?

Lazy villagers are great to be around; it’s relaxing just to be in their presence! This is because nothing seems to ever get them down, and they take life in their stride. They move at their own pace regardless of pressures from anyone else and are content and secure in themselves. This also makes them a great addition to your island as other villagers will easily enjoy being in their presence, and they can easily enjoy spending time with others, finding happiness and joy very easily in day-to-day life.

What are the Challenges of Lazy villagers?

Lazy villagers can sometimes be described as childish or naïve, which I do not necessarily agree with, at least not in Bone’s case. Lazy villagers can be judged as childish, but I would say that it is a plus rather than a benefit as I am sure there are times when we long for our childhood because of how content we were and how simple life was!

Although with Bones in particular, maybe this judgment is misplaced with his play hobby, as he can often be found running around the island with his arms out by his side in childlike glee and abandonment, which is one of my absolute favorite things about Animal Crossing as it is for sure heartwarming.

How does Bones Interact with Other Villagers?

Lazy villagers like Bones are great; due to their laidback nature, they are not involved enough to even think about judging or considering how others live or spend their time. Bones will easily make friends with others, as he appreciates every small thing due to his clinically relaxed personality. Speaking with Bones and giving him random gifts you think he will like a sure-fire way to make a friend, and without the stress and assessment that comes with giving a gift to an uptight villager like a smug villager!

Lazy villagers, as I am sure you can imagine, easily get along with most other villagers as they are friendly, social and very relaxed! This, however, paints a picture that Jock villagers hate; imagine a pro athlete or gym buff being best friends with someone who doesn’t see the value in or prioritize exercise or enjoy the gym – that is how jocks view Bones. While Bones accepts that Jock’s passion and hobbies are different than his, jocks cannot extend the same gratitude and are shocked or even disgusted at the lack of exercise other villagers take.

What is Bones’s Schedule?

Bones in Conversation

Bones has a typical schedule that is in line with his peaceful way of life; he goes to bed at 11 PM and gets up again at 8 AM.

Bones House

Bones has a lot of houses throughout his time at Animal Crossing, but they all have a very consistent home office style theme;

In Animal Crossing, doubutsu no mori/+:

  • Tall harmonoid
  • Mini harmonoid
  • Globe
  • Writing desk
  • Writing chair
  • Mop
  • Shogi board
  • Computer
  • Office chair
  • Executive toy
  • Office locker

This home also has a playroom wall and a tatami floor.

  • Tall harmonoid
  • Mini harmonoid
  • Globe
  • Writing desk
  • Writing chair
  • Alarm clock
  • Computer

Bones has kept his soothing playroom wall, but this time has a green rug floor!

In Animal Crossing Wild World:

  • Tall harmonoid
  • Basic yellow bed
  • Writing desk
  • Blue box
  • Writing chair
  • Office chair
  • Computer
  • Green bench
  • Kiddie dresser

Bones, as you can see, is very fond of the returning playroom wall and green rug; maybe it’s time for a change?

In Animal Crossing City Folk:

  • Basic yellow bed
  • Tall harmonoid
  • Blue box
  • Writing desk
  • Computer
  • Office chair
  • Writing chair
  • Kiddie dresser
  • Green bench

This home is exactly the same as his previous homes and could definitely do with some more variety which we thankfully get in New Leaf.

In Animal Crossing New Leaf:

Bbones
  • Train set
  • Kiddie stereo
  • Kiddie dresser
  • Common bed
  • Ranch tea table
  • Home computer rack
  • Writing chair
  • Cactus
  • Game shelf
  • Round cactus
  • Killifish
  • Waterbird
  • Globe
  • Homework set
  • Cuckoo clock
  • Air conditioner

Bones has managed to keep his general aesthetic of a super cute playroom, but really built upon it in this version as this is a more fully developed playroom. It really looks like one, and a nice one at that, with its classroom floor and a playroom wall.

In Animal Crossing New Horizons, this is my absolute dream home and my favorite of all of Bones’ homes;

  • Four wooden bookshelves
  • Two school chairs
  • Two cardboard boxes
  • Tape deck
  • Modern office chair
  • Lecture hall desk
  • Homework set
  • Rubber mud mat
  • Lecture hall desk
  • Stack of books x2

It’s like living in a library, which is my absolute dream vibe. The house is really tied together with a classic library wall and light wood flooring.
